Perry Janes is a writer and filmmaker from metro-Detroit, Michigan. In 2013, ZUG toured international film festivals before going on to receive a Student Academy Award from the AMPAS. In 2014, Perry re-located to Los Angeles, California, where he has worked for filmmakers that include Academy Award recipient Stephen Gaghan and comedy writer-director Nicholas Stoller, on productions that have taken him from Los Angeles to New York to Morocco. In 2016, his first feature-length script VACANTS was named semi-finalist for the Academy Nicholl Fellowship, and in 2017 his pilot television script BARKER STREET BOYS was featured at IFP Week in New York City. As a fiction writer and poet, his written work has appeared in literary journals and anthologies that include The Pushcart Prize XL. He is represented by The Wylie Agency (literary fiction), Creative Artists Agency (TV & MP lit), and Plattform (management).

A graduate of the University of Michigan’s program in Screen Arts & Cultures, he currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA, where is Director of Development at the production outfit 3311.



Ankur graduated the University of Michigan with dual-degrees: a BBA in the Ross School of Business and a BFA in Screen Arts and Cultures. He currently lives in Los Angeles, CA, where he works at Anonymous Content.



A graduate of the MFA in Cinematography at the American Film Institute, he initially honed his eye as a freelance still photographer, later taking up cinematography and shooting a range of shorts, commercials, and music videos. Jackie, an Environmental Studies major and Screen Arts and Cultures major recently graduated from the University of Michigan, has worked on a wide variety of productions, from short films to commercials to music videos, in both Michigan and in Los Angeles.  Her biggest solo projects to date have been documentaries she has shot and edited in Kenya, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and the West Bank.



An award winning writer/director from West Bloomfield, Michigan, David has taken on many roles within his productions, acting as writer, director, cinematographer and producer for a number of short films, one of which went on to win awards at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.  He has also made a number of promotional videos for nonprofit organizations, such as Relay For Life and Art Road Nonprofit, which have been featured on the Detroit News and the national RFL homepage.  David received his BA from the University of Michigan in 2011 with concentrations in both Screen Arts and Cultures and Psychology. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles.


COMPOSER | Hannah Winkler

A graduate of the University of Michigan’s program in Performing Arts Technology, he has done sound design and production recording for over fifteen student and commercial films ranging from movie musicals to feature length horror films. His work has appeared in numerous film festivals both in Michigan and nationwide. He currently lives in Kentucky, where he is pursuing a Ph.D. in urban planning.



Meryl Waldo is a graduate of the University of Michigan’s Theatre Design & Production program with a Costume Design concentration. As a student, she spent time working with Irish theatre companies such as the Abbey Theatre, the Gate Theatre, Druid and Macnas in addition to England’s National Theatre. She currently works as a DJ in the metro Detroit area.
